Aish Campus Pittsburgh offers Shabbas hospitality and does programming, trips, social events, learning, and leadership development for Jewish Pittsburgh based students at Univ of Pitt, Carnegie Mellon Univ., and Duquense College.

Rabbi Yaakov Fleshel

Rabbi Yaakov Fleshel was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. At a young age he moved with his family to Cape Town.
Yaakov recieved a BA in History and Religious Studies from the Univ. of Cape Town in South Africa. He than made Aliyah to Israel where he continued his studies at Aish HaTorah and later was ordained as a Rabbi. In his time in Israel, Yaakov joined the IDF and met his current wife Hannah who was studying at the women's seminary Neve Yerushalayim . As a couple they managed a free Jewish hostel, Heritage House, for 2 years in The OLD City of Jerusalem. Then, in 2004, the Fleshels moved To Santa Barbara, California where they established a Jewish campus group on UCSB. When it was time for their oldest son to start school, the Fleshels moved to the community in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill and started up a permanent Aish Campus.
